Saving money just got easier. Whether you are saving for a much needed vacation or the rent is due or you are saving to quit your 9-5.  Saving money just got a whole lot easier.

Making simple changes to your daily activity can save you a bunch of money.  In fact, the simple changes we made to our daily activities saved us over $1000 a month.

1. Brown bag your lunch

Simply by packing a sandwich, salad or leftovers for lunch could save you over $50 a week. Save yourself the time and pack your lunch the night before. If you work on the road invest in one of these.  I bought my husband one and he loves it, warm oven fresh lunches (or dinners) on the road.

2. Grocery shop on a budget

I am sure you have done it.  I know I have, grocery shopped right before dinner and a whole bunch of extra stuff ends up in the shopping cart that wasn’t on the list.  Setting a grocery budget will help you save money.  

3. Stop buying a few of these things

It’s normal, we’re human, we are attracted to shiny things, things that make our life easier. But do we really need all of it?  Learn what we stopped buying to save money.

4. Save your change

It may sound like the simplest way to save money, but honestly it all adds up.  Toss all your change in a jar and save it till its full then cash it in and put it towards something you need.

5. Skip the drive thru

Coffee every morning, lunch and dinner out can add up.  In fact, if you were a family of four eating breakfast, lunch and dinner out it could add up daily to over $200. Invest in meal planning and home cooking to save yourself money.

6. Plan a no spend weekend.

Have an amazing time without spending money. Discover over 75 cheap no spend family activities you can do during the week. On a weekend or during a staycation. 

7. Shop smart

Shop grocery store sales.  Stockpile goods you regularly use.  Keep a price book on the various items you buy from different stores. 

8. Make your own coffee

I love coffee and my latte addiction is part of the reason our debt added up. So I invested in a great coffee maker and milk frother. Now I making lattes at home and saving money all the way to the bank.

9. Bottle it before you leave

Why pay $2 or more for a bottle of water when you can bottle it in a great stainless steel bottle before you leave the house and bring it with you?

10. Skip the extras

If you are looking to save money skipping out on a few of the extras could save you the money you need. Skip the movie date this week and hang at home.  Opt for generic brand groceries. Skip the magazines and pay as you go apps.  Little bits here and there will add up.
