Dollar stores carry a wide array of items from food, to gift wrap, to toiletries, to craft supplies and toys.
In our town there are 10 different dollar stores carrying there own array of dollar items. We have two within the a short drive from our house and I have found I save money if I shop for these 15 things at the dollar store. If I buy them anywhere else I am spending too much hard earned money.
1. School Supplies
You can buy pencils, pens, paper, crayons, calculators, binders, rulers and many other school supplies at the dollar store and save hundreds of dollars by the time all your back to school lists are done.
2. Office Supplies
You will find pens, highlighters, staplers, desk organizers, note pads, papers, clips and more at the dollar store costing you between $1 to $3 versus the higher cost of the big box office stores.
3. Party Supplies
Dollar stores carry plates, cups, table cloths, napkins, themed party items, goodie bag items, balloons and decorations. It is your one stop party shop.
You can get cookies, candy, chips, fruit cups, dried fruit and nuts, protein bars, chocolate and many other snack options at the dollar store.
5. Vacation Items
When packing for your next vacation pick up items like books, puzzles, small games and toys to entertain your children while you travel. You can also find travel size toiletries and other vacation items at the dollar store.
Are you looking for pop, juice, water, re-hydration drinks, lunch box or specialty drinks? You will be surprised the options the dollar store carries.
7. Gift Wrapping
You can find gift bags in various sizes and styles, ribbons, tissue paper, gift cards, tape and wrapping paper at the dollar store.
8. Coffee Mugs and Glass Cups
Are you looking for a new coffee mug or a gift for the teacher? I have found a great selection of coffee mugs and glass cups at the dollar store. They even carry wine glasses and tumblers too.
Dollar stores carry books for adults and children, coloring books, activity books and more.
10. Craft Supplies
You will find colored paper, clay, paint, sketch books, crafting kits, pom poms, glitter, felts, googly eyes and so much more at the dollar store.
11. Seasonal Items
Whether it be a national holiday, Christmas, Easter or Summer or Winter items you are looking for you will find them at the dollar store.
12. Cheap Toys
If you are looking for marbles, toy cars, mini robots, plastic toddler toys, learning toys, puzzles, blocks or other small toys check the dollar store before shopping anywhere else.
13. Storage & Organizers
Dollar stores carry kitchen organizers, office organizers, garage organizers, drawer organizers, closet organizers, vehicle organizers and storage containers.
14. Glow Sticks
I have found dollar stores to have the best selection of glow sticks for the best prices.
Dollar stores are the best place for the large silver party and celebration helium balloons or balloon party bouquets.
These are 15 items that I buy at the dollar store and save money on. I find if I buy them anywhere else I am paying at least two or more dollars per item sometimes more. I know this list isn’t complete and I am sure you have your own select money saving items you buy at the dollar store.
