Save money on your household expenses.
Saving money and cutting your household expenses is a lot easier than it may seem.
For example when I finally looked at all the places we were spending money I was amazed at the amount of money we were spending eating out.
Some nights I was just too tired to cook and hadn’t prepared anything. Other nights I was all for an evening out. What I didn’t think about was how this was killing our budget.
Simple fix to an expensive problem – meal planning. I plan about two weeks worth of meals at a time.
This means I know what I need at the grocery store and the meals are written on the calendar so I know what needs to be prepared ahead of time.
Stop buying stuff you don’t need.
Have you really looked at what you spend your money on? Have you looked into cheaper alternatives or whether you really use all the stuff you buy?
Do you spend money on premade pastries, breads and muffins when you could save the expense and make them at home?
What about clothes? How many pairs of (fill in the blank) do you have? Do you really need that many?
As people we have a tendency to buy stuff even if we really don’t need it. So the best way to save some money is to assess all the items you buy in a few weeks and see where and what you can cut.
You can read about all the stuff we stopped buying and how we saved over $700 a month.
