1. Stop trying to keep up.
Be happy with what you have. The Joneses are broke. Multiple vacations, new wardrobes and lots of toys come with lots of debt.
2. Skip the drive thru.
I know it is real easy just to pick up breakfast or lunch. But you can save over $15 a day by brown bagging it from home.
3. Invest in a good coffee maker.
I love my morning coffee and I can save money brewing it at home and putting it in a travel mug and bring it to work. The key is to purchase a great coffee machine. Some even come with a wake up setting.
4. Learn to meal plan.
I love meal planning it saves us so much money. Simply knowing what’s for dinner and that it is in the fridge is a stress reliever. No more crazy running around defrosting, throwing a meal together at the last minute. I know what’s for dinner and it is ready to make using a meal plan.
Communicate with your spouse and your family your money goals. It is important. Having everyone on the same page financially makes life a lot easier.
6. Learn to have fun.
The cheap way. Did you know you can have an amazing time without spending a dime?
7. Try something new.
Do you buy the same brands of soap and bread every time you go shopping? Try something new the next time you go shopping opt for the brand on sale or the generic option.
8. How do you plan your holidays?
Do you staycation? Or do you get a group together and camp? Or do you travel to a new city and stay in hotels? Do you check out hotel and travel sales before you book?
