You can have an amazing date minus the large price tag.
Just because you are watching your pennies doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy an amazing date with your partner. Imagine watching the sunset from the beach or enjoying a gourmet picnic in the rose garden. Or if you are a sports family what about a game of one on one or a run in the park followed by a lazy lunch at your favorite cafe?
You can have your cake and eat it too without all the expense. Romance doesn’t have to be expensive it just needs to be inventive. You could have an amazing date and it costs you nothing or you could have an okay date and it costs you hundreds. I honestly would prefer the amazing date and if it costs me minimal that’s a plus too.
Romance and dating isn’t about the dollar amount on the receipt.
It is amount spending quality time with your partner. As a Mom to littles it is about stealing away two seconds to cherish and remember what brought you together. It’s the small stuff. The coffee and the walk in the park. It’s the cuddle on the couch after a long hard work day. Its meeting half way with understanding after a disagreement. It is about enjoying each others company.
Enjoy time after the kids have gone to bed or call in a babysitter.
Enjoying a date night with your partner doesn’t have to mean spending money on child care. You can arrange for babysitting exchange time with friends or ask family to watch the kids for a few hours.
Or you can arrange your date at home after the kids have gone to bed. Cook a romantic dinner and enjoy a long relaxing soak in the bath together. Prepare all your favorite snack foods, cuddle on the couch and watch television.

My favorite frugal date activities with my husband are walks in the park, picnics by the lake, cup and conversation on the patio and Sunday breakfast.
We have this Sunday brunch tradition in our house that we have been doing for, as long as, I can remember and I love it and it’s real simple to do. We feed our son breakfast first and set him up with an activity. Then my husband cooks a beautiful Sunday brunch while I enjoy my morning coffee.
This is the one meal I get to sit out and not cook, which is nice. We sit and enjoy our time together over coffee, conversation and yummy food. I think my other favorite frugal date if I had to pick just one is a simple walk in the park away from the telephones and the laundry. You can connect, talk, hold hands, communicate, make plans and take in the view. What can I say I like the simple things.
