Frugal Fall Activities:
Apple Harvest
As the morning air gets crisper so do the apples. If you don’t have your own apple tree to pick from look for a local farm. Harvesting or picking your own apples is fun for the whole family and way cheaper than purchasing them at the store. And what better Autumn dessert than baked cinnamon apples or homemade apple pie.
Autumn Nature Walk
Don’t you just love the change of colors during the Fall. A simple walk in the park or on a local trail becomes more than just a walk during Autumn. It becomes a great opportunity to collect leaves for crafts. Or to take seasonal photography.
Fall Crafts
Autumn is a great time to collect fallen leaves for color collages or leaf prints. Squashes and ornamental pumpkins are in season for decorating. With a little bit more time on your hands and a beautiful color palette available to you let nature be your crafting guide.
Cup and Conversation
Fall is a great time to gather friends for coffee or tea and time to catch up. Or plan game day activities, potlucks and dinners.
Backyard Fire Pits And Marshmallow Roast
This I think is our son’s favorite part of Fall. We have a propane fire pit that we bring out in Fall. We gather around as a family, drink hot cocoa and catch up on the days activities.
Pumpkin Patch
Nothing says Fall more than a pumpkin. So what better way to spend a Fall afternoon than wandering the local pumpkin patch for the perfect pumpkin.
Scavenger Hunts
Grab a group of friends or family and go on the hunt for selected Fall items. Who can find the most items?
Corn Mazes
We live in farm country and corn mazes are a big fall activity. If you have never done a corn maze – it is a maze made in a corn field. Your job is to make it from the entrance to the exit in the shortest amount of time. Corn mazes are a cheap afternoon of family fun.
Fishing
As the weather begins to cool fishing becomes more successful. Relaxing on the river, spending time with nature. Sometimes it is not about whether you catch the fish, it is about the atmosphere.
Rest And Relaxation
With Fall comes blankets, hot cocoa, tea and cozy nights. Great family activities include watching movies, playing board games, cooking and eating meals together. Backyard camping is also great this time of year.
Time To Gather
Fall is a time of gathering. Spending time together. A time to save money and plan.
Plan some amazing activities. Enjoy your Autumn.
