For example vegetarian meals and ethnic meals are generally cheaper to make than westernized meat and potato meals.

9. Organization and planning

Organization is a frugal must.  A clutter free home can save you hundreds.  If you know what you have you won’t be buying seconds or thirds and waiting to use them.

If you meal plan you will save money at the grocery store and at the dinner table.

10. Communication 

If you and your spouse are on the same page financially life is a lot easier.

Communicate with your family about what you can afford and what your personal financial goals are.
