Is it possible to save $1000 by Christmas?
Yes! It just takes planning and sticking to your plan till you reach your goal.
I have chosen $1000 as a generic amount because this is what the media says we spend during the holiday season on gifts, dinner and entertainment. You may spend less, you may spend more.
In our house we don’t go buy $250 gifts for people and we don’t go crazy on stocking stuffers. In our home it’s more about the get together and the meal so the funds are allotted accordingly.
How do you save $1000 by Christmas?
First you figure out how much time you have between now and your holiday celebrations. Who are you buying gifts for and what is your holiday budget.
How many paychecks do you have till Christmas? Can you budget a small amount from each check to put towards the holidays?

Money saving alternatives if you can’t save for the holidays.
If you aren’t able to save your desired amount by Christmas you do have alternatives. Instead of buying expensive gifts, try making your own DIY gifts.
Or do a name draw for the people you wish to exchange with. This is how our large family did the holidays growing up. Everyone got a name and bought one gift.
When it comes to dinner don’t stress out on all the expense host a potluck dinner or an appetizer party.
You cook the main dish and ask all your guests to pitch in. This ideas saves time, money and stress. Plus the menu is variable and something everyone will enjoy.
If you are looking for cheap entertainment during the holidays lots of local groups and churches have beautiful seasonal displays and entertainment for free.
Have a great day,
