Lemon and Blueberry

They are the perfect mix. The tart citrus flavor of the lemon and the sweet fresh burst of flavor from a blueberry. A simple lemon curd tart topped with sugary blueberries is a perfect picnic dessert.

Ingredients In Blueberry Lemon Desserts

Simple spring desserts are made with common pantry ingredients like powdered sugar, flour, vanilla and butter. And these simple citrus and berry desserts can be made in minutes.

Lemons

Lemons are a very popular citrus fruit available all year round at the grocery store but they are cheaper to buy December thru March.

If you can get your hands on cheap citrus preserve what you can for baking and cooking. Grate and dry the zest or peel. Store in an air tight jar. Juice the citrus fruit and freeze the juice in an ice cube tray. Once frozen transfer to a freezer bag for longer freezer storage. This way you have citrus peel and lemon or lime juice when ever you need.

Blueberries

Blueberries are a summer berry, but oh so good. We freeze extra during the season from our garden and a local farm so we can have blueberries all year round. It’s not economical to pay $8 for a handful of berries in the winter. Freeze your berries in season to save money and to have berries when you want.
