If it were me I would tackle 3 specific areas of spending.
Areas that I would notice immediate results.
Food would be on the top of my list.
You can always lower your grocery budget. In fact we are working on this exact thing in our household. Cutting down on the expensive homemade dishes and bring back cheap, yummy, home cooked meals.
Clipping coupons, using Rakuten, shopping sales and using what we have. These are all great ways to save money quickly.
Meal planning is a great way to save money and cut costs. Stop eating out and skip the drive thru. Make the cost effective choice to eat at home. Learn what we quit buying to save a ton of money every month.
Energy would be my next choice.
And this applies to all utilities and gasoline. What changes could you make to see immediate results?
Wash your clothes in cold water and hang them to dry.
Lock up the thermostat. Figure out a balanced cost effective temperature everyone is happy with.
Carpool, walk or bike to where you need to be.
Entertainment would be a great place to see money saving results.
If you are looking to save a large portion of money quickly over a short period of time cutting back on costly entertainment will help.
The average cost for two people for dinner and a movie is approximately $100 or more after drinks, dessert and popcorn.
