On average the country spends over a billion dollars on eating out every month.
So it is no secret that we like to dine out. Whether is be Sunday Brunch, lunch with friends or Friday night family dinner. Eating out has its perks.
No dishes to clean up, no meal preparation and cooking. And you get to try something new. Our favorite place to dine out is our local ethnic restaurant.
There is something about traditional Indian cooking. Even if I have all the right spices and ingredients I can’t make it the same.
So once a month you will find us dining on butter chicken, curry, mango chutney, and other yummy dishes.
Eating out can get expensive.
On average a dinner meal for an adult costs $20 plus drinks and an appetizer or dessert. So for a family of 4 you are looking at a tab of $100 or more.
You could save the $100 and dine at home and get the family involved in the cooking. Plan a taco night or make your own pizza evening.
On the other hand eating out is convenient and fun. You get to sit down and visit, no rushing around the kitchen making sure the pots aren’t boiling over and you don’t have to do the clean up.
So, how do you save on the restaurant tab and still enjoy a great meal out with family and friends?
