What do you want out of life?
Where do you want to be in five years? What is your purpose? These are all big questions.
But seriously, you can have the life you want! You simply need to be smart with your money.
Saving and spending strategies to get you the life you want.
The most important thing to do and most wealthy people will tell you this is take count of where you are spending your money. Note I didn’t say budget.
Before you set a budget you really need to take count of where you are spending your money. Keep track of your daily purchases, what you are inclined to splurge on. Really be honest and assess your spending.
We did this an were able to cut $1000 from our monthly spending. As a family we were eating out too much and really did not taking count of how much money we were spending.
Setting up a budget and using cash is important.
Budgeting gives you a guideline and makes every dollar work for you. You work very hard for your income and you need it to work just as hard for you.
If you want to learn more about budgeting I suggest looking into Financial Peace University it is a take at your own pace course that will teach you the ins and outs of money, getting out of debt and saving for your future.
My husband and I took the course and it made a world of difference in how we spend, save and earn our money.
If you can pay with cash, do it. Paying with cash gives you physical knowledge of how much you can actually spend. It gives you a visual dollar for dollar worth. It will also save you money.
Saving money the simple way.
Saving money isn’t as hard as one might think and the best way to save money is to cut back. Living frugally is great example of cutting back and making smarter choices with your money.
What is frugal living exactly?
It is living within your means and spending less than you make. A great example of frugal living is meal planning, and I use this example because eating out destroyed our budget.
With a meal plan you do exactly that, you plan your meal, you grocery shop according to your meal plan and you enjoy home cooked yummy meals every night.
No more $100 dinners out, no more wasting food, no more wondering what is for dinner as you drive home from soccer practice. You are saving tons of money simply by using a meal plan.
Another great example of frugal living and saving money is no spend weekends and enjoying what you have.
