Are you stuck at home?
With most of the country on extended leave the question is what to do. The kids are home from school. People are home from work. How do you beat the boredom if you are stuck at home?
Being stuck at home comes in varying levels around the globe. Some people are choosing to avoid largely populated buildings and events. Others are getting out and enjoying the great outdoors. Some are staying indoors and trying to keep entertained.

Whether you are stuck at home or you need ideas to keep the kids busy here are 10 great ideas that don’t involve electronics.
1. Get out the art supplies
Any kid anywhere no matter the age can spend hours if given the opportunity to craft. Whether it be drawing, painting, forming clay figures, making slime or building a model.
Let the imagination run wild. Get out what art supplies you have or order a few off Amazon. Simple supplies will do.
Give a child a box and the playtime will last for hours.

2. start baking
Kids love to bake and eat so why not mix both. Get out the recipe books, the flour, sugar and baking sheets and get baking.
You could make cookies, muffins, cupcakes, bread or get really creative and make homemade pasta.
Baking will give you something to do plus if you are stuck at home it gives you something yummy to eat. And it saves you money.
3. hit the local trail
If you can still get out and enjoy your local area plan a hike, take a bike ride or plan a picnic in your local park.
Something as simple as go for a walk around the neighborhood can be fun, relaxing and take everyone’s mind off being stuck at home.
4. head to the local park
Whether it be a sport field for a little soccer or the basketball court for some one on one. Or to the playground for some playtime on the swings.
Playtime in the park is a great way to cure the boredom and use up some energy.
5. support your local businesses
Like I said being stuck at home comes in varying degrees. If you can still get out and about go support your local businesses. Have coffee at your local coffee shop. Browse the local used book store. See what the farmer’s market has on sale this week.
Small local businesses will feel the economic effects worse than big box stores during an economic crisis.
6. bring out the blocks
Whether it be Lego or fort building the fun can last for hours. You don’t need some special kit grab some blocks and start building.
If you are constructing a fort chairs, sheets and clothespins are a good starting point. The table and a sheet plus some pillows will work too.
7. plan a scavenger hunt
It could be something as simple as Where’s Waldo or something as complicated as an amazing race.
Scavenger hunts are just plan fun. You can do them indoors or in your community. Give the kids or who ever is playing a list of things to collect or tasks to do and send them running. The first to complete their list wins.
8. games, games and more games
Board games, card games, thinking games they are all great ways to pass the time.
9. party in the backyard
Beat the boredom while you’re stuck at home and make use of your own backyard. Plan a picnic, plant a garden, string some lights and have a BBQ.
Get out the bubbles and the sidewalk chalk and let the kids play.
10. spa time anyone
If you are stuck indoors it is the perfect time for a manicure and pedicure. Set up an at home spa and let the kids paint their nails, massage their hands and get a bit of rest and relaxation away from all the worldly pressures.

Visit the national parks without leaving your driveway

Beat The Boredom While You Are Stuck At Home
Make it interesting. Plan a night time picnic or marshmallow roast and star gaze. Start planting your garden.
Teach the value of lending a helping hand by checking up on your elderly neighbors. Bake a couple of dozen cookies and share them with your neighbors.
Get the kids involved and turn the kitchen into a science lab. Build a volcano with baking soda and vinegar. Make some slime. Or maybe you have littles and homemade play dough is more of what you need for hours of playtime fun.
